Welcome to your Kitney Toolkit e-News for March 2022!
And what a month that March has been! If we lived in the northern hemisphere, the proverb 'in like a lion and out like a lamb' comes to mind. Like many in Brisbane, our office in Rocklea was impacted by the floods. We are very grateful to Sam Holt in our IT Team and Hydraulic Steels for working to get our Kitney office back into use. We've mastered the art of virtual working, but it will be great to have our team together in the coming weeks.
So what's new?
Systems, Add-Ons and Support
In 2019 when we started to explore Microsoft 365 for WHS management, it was innovative and exploratory. Fast-forward to 2022 and using online tools within a business licence changes the conversion from 'what is it' to 'when'. Once understood, online tools become part of everyday business and smaller and medium sized businesses are gaining through their agility in adopting these. Here at Kitney Toolkit we're responding with WHS and integrated 365 systems, Add-Ons (workflows, training, off-line functions, reporting etc.), and support to guide and build business knowledge and capability. Power BI 365 System Dashboard
During 2021/22 Kitney is hosting four QUT IT students for their Capstone Project. An important project that has
established a Power BI Dashboard for Kitney's 365 WHS System, and moved from proof of concept to client work. The students are working with Kitney and i2C, one of our long standing clients. i2C will gain from a Power BI WHS management dashboard and our QUT students by working directly with industry, thank you i2C for allowing us to run this project with you.
Student Work, Internship and Placement Program
We have welcomed Shafath Issa, UQ OHS Masters student, to our Kitney Team and have released our Student Work, Internship and Placement (SWIP) Programfor QUT and UQ students. SWIP provides opportunities for students to gain industry experience and we're in the process of shortlisting for IT, HR and UX/UI students to join our dynamic and progressive team. This week Briony Coward, Kitney's IT Team Lead, and Jo Kitney, Managing Director, will be at the UQ Business School Postgraduate Association Internship Mixer, a great opportunity to mix with students and explore ideas for SWIP in the year ahead.

Microsoft 365 Update
Microsoft has rolled out its new operating system Windows 11 and with this, Microsoft Teams has had an update! If you have updated your operating system to Windows 11, don't forget to re-install Microsoft teams for your new operating system here.
There have been updates to chat to allow users to add contacts with a phone number, and you can now reply directly in-line to teams chat notifications. Teams also comes with a revamped Together Mode with live emoji reactions, polls, calendar integration, chat history search, file sharing and the ability to directly assign tasks to others.
